As The Treadmill Turns: Are You Ready To Receive What You Asked For?
"You get in life what you have the courage to ask for."
Ms. Winfrey
I was frustrated.
I was burned out.
It was time to wipe the slate clean.
I was scared.
As any entrepreneur knows and understands unless we have clients we don't eat.
Well, I think all business owners know this!
But what if you start to lose the joy you once had?
What if you just aren't attracting the type of clients that actually want change?
It is time to have a sit-down with yourself.
Go over what you deem as important to your career.
What will make you happy?
And what is it that you want exactly?
"Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step."
Dr. King
This is where things get scary.
I sat down with myself after a very disappointing Personal Training session.
The questions I asked myself were not easy:
1. Do you still love what you do?
2. If you do, then why are you attracting people that don't want change and clearly don't want to be dedicated to getting healthy?
3. What are you willing to do to enact change?
My answers to these questions were thought out and honest.
I didn't pull any punches with myself.
Yes! I love what I do!
Yes! I had become complacent. I was like a cat that had been fed well...I was relaxing in the sun and fell asleep!
Was I willing to wake up and change? YUP!
The time had come to get back to who I once was.
This is what I did.

I am a believer in asking the Universe for help.
"Ask. Believe. Receive."
I am also a believer that you better be ready when it(whatever you asked for)comes your way.
So I asked.
What I wanted: Clients that love themselves SO much, that they are dedicated to pay the amount I am asking and do the work!
I also asked: "Let the serious clients stay. The clients that aren't, I am grateful to them, but let them leave me."
What happened: After I wrote those words. After the words imprinted on my heart then left my mouth, half of my clients were gone.
It's what I asked for.
Was I scared? A little bit.
I was also elated!
This whole ask, believe, and receive thing actually worked!
Now, when I tell this story, some people call me crazy. It's okay!
I know why I became a Personal Trainer.
I also know that being a Personal Trainer gave me joy.
It was time to get back my joy!

Sometimes people won't understand why you're doing what you are doing. They aren't meant to.
Do you remember why you picked the career that you're in?
Did you love it?
Do you still?
Were you/Are you excited to get to work every day? Okay, maybe not every day, but most days :).
I love Training! I always have, and I believe I always will.
The quote "Love what you do, and you'll never work a day in your life." is so true.
We want to keep that fire stoked!
How do you do this?
1. Focus on your vision.
2. Set standards for yourself and your clients.
3. Make sure you have contracts written that cover non-compliance. Then you can't keep clients that refuse to follow your program.
This keeps you and your clients in check.
4. Set personal goals. Long-term and short-term goals, set and met are what keeps us growing in our business.
5. Be "The Change-maker" in your life and you will attract clients that want change.
6. Charge what you are worth and not what people can afford.
They already know your value.
You also need to know your value!
Fear of scarcity can cause us to question our prices, don't.
Set your price.
Stick with it.
The clients will come.
"Ask. Believe. Receive."
Wishing you love and peace...but mostly, Peace.
Great words and so true keep on doing what you doing you're doing excellent job if you believe in what you're doing keep on doing it you know your craft you're going to always have people who are going to come into your life for a reason and a season yes some will stay some will go some will listen and some won't but I believe as a trainer that's the UPS as well as the downs and that's worth anything. You're going to have people who want it and they want it yesterday they are always going to try and be as fit as that person or this person instead of trying to be fit for themselves and realize that this is a journey that they're going to be going on it's not just wham bam thank you I'm there no it's a lifestyle change they have to make the commitment and change themselves you're not the only one who's responsible for them changing they have to be the ones who decide to take action a lot of people don't but then again there are always going to be people who will so just focus on that and you are going to do great as you always have so keep on doing what you're doing you have a believer rooting you on.
