Let's Chew The Fat: Personal Trainers, Diets, Supplements & Shakes

"There is no easy fix...But it also isn't Rocket Science."
Dawn Ellen

It's that time of year again people! The New Years Resolution, I'm going to start on Monday, I just need a Personal Trainer for 2 weeks to get me going and I am going to buy every exercise gadget and pill they show me on t.v, time of year. Those of you who read my Blogs, watch my podcast or know me personally, know my weight-loss story. So I am not some rando Woman who has been thin her whole life talking about weight-loss. I have lived it. And what I am telling you is this(and it might make some angry)stop making this harder and more expensive than it has to be! I am not trying to throw salt on anyone's game: the selling of supplements, diet drinks, shake mixes, blah, blah, and more blah. I used to be that person! I not only sold all of those mentioned above, but I also took my own product, that is, shakes and supplements (all legal!). Then I had to stop, reassess and go back to the beginning. When I dropped all of that weight, did I use all of those shakes and supplements? No. I ate well, drank a lot of water and exercised. When did this whole thing become so complicated?

"Exercise is King. Nutrition is Queen. Put them together and you've got a kingdom."
Jack LaLanne

I'm going to twist this quote around a bit: "Nutrition is King. Exercise is Queen." Why? If you think for one moment that you are going to be able to eat everything you want, high caloric items! and just exercise and the fat will just melt off...keep lying to yourself. Do you want to lose weight and keep it off? It's an easy answer: Eat right and eat well. It's not so easy to implement. You already know the reasons why: 1. There is no meal plan 2. A lot of people don't know how to grocery shop(believe it or not) 3. There is no time to prepare your own food 4. Fast food/pills/supplements are so convenient...so you think. Your body will tell you differently eventually. I don't know who said it first "You must eat to lose." but it is the truth. Food is fuel. We need the nutrients and energy it provides us. Fage!

"Re-set, re-adjust, re-start, re-focus...as many times as you need to."

When you find yourself having difficulties doing any of those things mentioned in that above quote, this is when and where a Personal Trainer should be hired. Personal Trainers love helping you set and reach your goals. But before hiring a Trainer, ask yourself these questions: 1. Am I ready for Change? 2.  Am I ready to listen and follow directives? 3. Do I believe in myself enough to do this? 4. Am I ready to be accountable? If you answered yes to all of these, hire a Personal Trainer. If you said no to all or half, don't waste your time and money. This is your journey and no one can make this happen but you. The power is yours. I will leave you with this: It's your body. It's your health and your time. If you feel you need to use supplements, research! Everyone is different, so what works for your best friend, might not work for you. Eat your own food as much as possible, don't attach guilt and shame to what you eat. Every day is a new opportunity to be better than you were the day before, so never give up. Wishing you love and peace, but mostly, Peace.
