The Deletion, The Block & the Unfriending: My Pointer is Strong! OR You Have the Power!

“Today, spend a little time cultivating relationships offline. Never forget that everybody isn't on social media.”
― Germany Kent

I become a little bit fascinated by stories of people arguing with folks online. Yet, some of these people don't argue with people offline, not a peep! I ask the same question everytime someone tells me of a "battle" online, "Do you know this person in real life?" "No." is always the answer. So my question is, why are you wasting your time? Do you even have these types of conversations with people in your family? When you pay attention you realize that people become something else online. This Clark Kent to Superman transformation is mind-boggling, or people will go in reverse. To the low down, disgusting, hate spewing, narcissistic,, mean-spirited pieces of trash that you only thought you knew. The internet affords people this, this dual personality, this keyboard "warrior" mentality. When I see this and I feel myself getting angry and about to go into the land of pissivity(thank you Our Jenny for the word:) I ask myself what is the purpose of me being on Social Media? Am I stepping outside my lane with going back and forth with people who are bound and determined to be negative? Yes! yes, I am or was. This is where the Finger comes in...No! not THE finger! lol

Power of Twitter to Create a Happier, Healthier Life

The finger, the Pointer, is a powerful digit. Not only does it point at people, you can use it to emphasize words as you jab the air while you speak. But, it is a great digit for deleting, unfriending and blocking. I exercise this finger just for that! We all are in charge of what we take in on the internet. We are not powerless! You don't like the content that is being disseminated on your Social Media pages? Block, delete, mute or unfriend whoever is posting it. It really is as easy as that. This is a no-brainer. Save your mental health and blood pressure!

“What you post online speaks VOLUME about who you really are. POST with intention. REPOST with caution.”
― Germany Kent

I post with intent. I retweet and repost with care. I have a brand that I love and I also want to be proud of what I choose to put out into the Universe. I stand by my words and I speak my Truth. I try to do so with responsibility.  In my mind, I still represent my Mama, even at (cough)50 years old. There are some that would say that is outlandish, but nah! Would that Lady be happy with what I just typed? If I have to ask the question...Yeah, you know the rest. I live to be happy. If I don't feel good, if I haven't learned something, if I find myself arguing for no purpose, first I check myself, then I get rid of whatever is causing my angst. If you want negativity it is so easy to find! Choose happiness...Life is so much better and wonderful when you do. Wishing you all love and peace. But mostly peace.

  1. That is something we all have to work on is communicating with each other face-to-face one-on-one instead of always online sitting behind the computer pretending where somebody who are not doing great job keep up the good work
