The Word of the week: Standard(s)



Interesting conversation's going on! I think that some(a lot!) of our girls have lost their way. They watch these "reality" t.v shows and think that is the norm...but DON'T be fooled Ladies! I am around Men all day, I grew up around a lot of Men, my Bestest Friends are Men and there is one thing that regardless of ethnicity, they will all agree on: The foul mouthed, uncouth, Bus Down" girl NEVER gets to meet Mama. Don't believe the hype that you read in People and those other rags! Don't believe the hype of these shows, and I don't care how many they get. Because yes! You Can get a Man(Who can't?) but it is the QUALITY of Man you are getting that counts. So here is my quote for you: Here's a lesson for every single girl out there: Never, ever settle. You may think you aren't gorgeous, smart and have too many insecurities too count. But there is going to be someone in the world who truly loves you for you. Don't ever think that you've got to put up with someone's shit. You are all beautiful in your own individual way so never lower your standards.

I'm Not Lying! You Can Lose The Weight

  "Don't make it harder than it is." Me. For the longest time, I have listened to people talk about weight loss as if it can not be done without full-on drama. The Fitness Industry, being the biggest propagator of this fallacy. Now, you might be asking yourself, "Why is Dawn, The Trainer, writing this? Isn't she part of the Fitness Industry?"  Yes. Yes, I am.  I was also really big at one time. It's a both sides of the fence type of thing.  And believe me, this blog isn't going to stop the Fitness Industry from enjoying the $25.6 billion it made in 2021(projected to jump 26% to earn $114.3 billion in revenue by 2028). Being Black, A Woman & Why & How I Have Peace

We must learn how to live in the space of inner peace in our everyday lives. This takes consistent, conscious effort because I know so many black women are hurting and sad, and we don't easily express our heartache or show our wounds.  Susan L. Taylor I have peace. I told a total stranger on Twitter that I was going to write about how to have inner - peace. Because getting it isn't easy. It takes work! It takes dedication and a willingness to walk away from anything and anyone that will not take your peace seriously. The question is always "How do I gain and keep my peace?"
